Nurse Aide Training
Elderwood offers education and FREE training for individuals wishing to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, Certified Nursing Assistants provide care to meet the physical and emotional needs of residents in Elderwood skilled nursing facilities.
The training is a 3 week training course that involves classroom work, facility orientation and hands-on instruction.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training opportunities
Nursing Assistant Trainee team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by participating as a student in a Nursing Assistant 100-Hour Training Program and completing certification within 120 days of training start date. After receiving appropriate instruction and demonstrating skill competency will provide personal and nursing care to meet the physical and emotional needs of residents, under the direct supervision of a Trainee Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Opportunities
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, home health aides (HHAs) provide care to meet the physical and emotional needs of residents in Elderwood assisted living facilities.
We offer three types of HHA training courses on a rotational basis:
- CNA Conversion – you must hold a current CNA certificate in good standing
- PCA Conversion – you must hold a current PCA certificate in good standing
- HHA training – No required certifications prior to starting class
